right I can’t manage more than one blog methinks so…

I’ve just rolled everything into one at my original Tumblr. (: If you don’t follow that you should do so now.

Big Dreams Will Ruin Us All.

Going to see Straight Lines tonight. I have a soft spot for this band because they were one of the first bands I took photos of all the way back in February. I dragged some of my friends with me to this show in Camden, dropped a pint glass on one of my friends head (totally not on purpose!), did a lot of dancing and singing and generally got pretty excited about taking photos.

I can look back on the photos and they aren’t amazing. I can see everything I did wrong, but looking back on them I can also see how much I improved from February till now. Which is all down to hard work really, how many bands and gigs have I shot since that one in February? I can’t even count. So many. My position on this has always been the more I do, the more I learn. Also the more I look at the more I learn.

I got the chance to photo the band again at Sonisphere. I was stoked to shoot them again. (:

So lot’s of people are following this now, I thought I should do a hello post again, because I don’t know some of you. HELLO! I’m Maryam. I take photos. Mostly of people. A lot of the time of bands. I am a little bit in love with doing it. I am 25. It’s not as old as it sounds. I like being 25. I live in East London, we’re not going to say where.

I look a bit like the above photo.

I have another blog here which is mainly full of pictures of Lady Gaga and Beyonce and ridiculous quotes. I collect things on it I guess.. and occasionally write things non-photography related.

A lot of my photos are taken for Punktastic. You should go there because them boys are wicked.

My life has got a little bit hectic, I quite like that has got a little bit hectic. I think it suits me more to have things a little bit crazy and dramatic then to have everything calm. I’m generally quite positive (seriously, even first thing in the morning I’m smiling).

I like all sorts of music. I am a little bit obsessed with Say Anything. By a little bit I mean I have one of those Max Bemis song shop songs. Yeah.

I am horrendously geeky. But I like being geeky. (:

I shoot with a Nikon. I quite like Hash Browns. I do not like spiders. Or wasps.

I don’t usually write in short sentences, just it’s a bit late and I’m a bit sleepy. So I may stop writing this now (:

Things I Never Thought I’d Do This Year: Part Two.

Against Me! played an In-store in Banquet Records and then a show at the Fighting Cocks. Anyone who knows me at all will probably know I am obsessed with this band (and probably has no idea who they are!) and I sort of am. It was an amazing evening and the show at the Fighting Cocks is seriously one of the best I’ve ever been to.

Now Banquet just have to get Say Anything to do an instore and Fighting Cocks show…. ;)

So on Sunday me and my friend James went for a wander from his flat in Bethnal Green down past his new flat, which is still in Bethnal Green but more towards Hackney and then down to Hackney City Farm. This was written on the wall outside of James’ new flat. It made me laugh.

I’m telling you, East London is made up of Hipster Kids and Muslims. TRUE FACT. So I never understand why ANYONE is scared of it. Neither of these groups is really going to stab you up.. to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever been really scared of East London.

I love that area we walked around though. I’ve had a bit of photography inspiration for it too. Also I have to start looking for places to live if plans that are being discussed become reality anytime soon. I may soon be living in a house full of PARTY and PANDAS. Oh yeah.

I don’t know if I like Madina Lake. But I know they were fun to take photos of and come from Chicago. I have to like everyone that comes from Chicago. Also I like this photo and I like that their lead singer wears no shoes whilst he sings.

I’m going to see Against Me! on Thursday in Kingston. I am going to take my camera but in the small a venue with that awesome a band I am sure I won’t take many photos. I WANT TO DANCE. But I am stoked on this show. Against Me! are amazing and I pretty much love Tom Gabel. This doesn’t really make up for the disappointment of not being able to take pictures at Reading this year, but oh well. There’s always next year right?

I had a wicked time at both Sonisphere and Hevy so I’m not going to complain really. I met all my goals for August bar Reading. Reading was the big goal I didn’t think I’d actually do anyway so.. it’s ok. Need to make end of year Goals now. I actually can’t believe we’re almost in September. 2010 has flown by and been so amazing. It’s also been annoying and crazy and full of drama. I’ve met so many people and seen so many shows and taken more photos then I can count.. Love it.
